Matt’s Mazda 323

As 2014 is upon us, I wanted to try and post a few more times before it’s here. Although, this project is not finished, we decided to do a ‘mini-feature’ on Matt’s 323.

Matt is going for the ‘bosozoku style’ look for this car, with a few different touches; the front-end is sporting a duckbill splitter, yellow headlights, an oil cooler and a set of curb feelers.

One of his next modifications is a new exhaust, whilst unsure what he should buy or have made, we are sure that Matt has a few ideas up his sleeve! We are secretly hoping for a great bosozoku star…

We are some of the many fans of the fabricated arch work that has been completed to squeeze those 9J ET0 Slotmag wheels on to the car.

Width shot showing a Tsurikawa from Japan and a few stickers, including a souvenir from this car’s trip to Monte Carlo, Status Error and our GRCSHVC old style sticker.

We believe that Matt will be going lower for 2014 but understand that a few minor suspension modifications are required before this can happen!

Even though it still has the original, old school beige interior, inside is just as funky: with a purple OMP style steering wheel, purple bubble shift knob, a few paisley bandanas, two more Tsurikawas and a rear-facing V For Vendetta mask.

Matt is hoping to buy a Grip Royal steering wheel next year and possibly a longer shift knob.

Dakota Drift Day 16/11/13

On Saturday 16th of November 2013, it was the 5th and final round of DWYB at Dakota Raceway. Although, it was very cold and we got pretty wet, we still managed to grab some photos.

An Impreza is something not regularly seen at our local DWYB.

Smoke from the tyres, the boot and the cabin ?!

We still love Dean’s 1UZ Altezza!

We hadn’t seen the Jizzworx 180SX new colour, in the flesh, before Saturday.

We love wall taps!

Some great tandem action happened too.

Hope you enjoyed. See you next year!

Dakota Drag & Drift 12/10/13

Saturday the 12th of October saw round 4 of the now fairly well established Dakota Drag & Drift held at Smeatharpe airfield. The formula has remained the same for the last few events- drag racing on one side of the runway and some fancy skid racing at the other end….this seems to work well as it ensures a busy event, with fans of both disciplines freely wandering between the two. Whilst we spent a bit of time watching people tear up the quarter mile, it is drifting we came to see.

With all 50 spaces sold out the event was pretty busy. Despite a wet miserable start to the day causing plenty of grip issues, the track gradually dried up enough by the afternoon to see some smoke 🙂

team comp was a pretty good watch…IMG_3958

then sunshine happened (kind of)…

round 5 takes place on the 16th of November which will be the last event this year as we understand it…so don’t miss it!

Classic Summer

Not our usual fare obviously, but we can all appreciate a classic right?

Well we’ve been fortunate enough to attend a couple of local gatherings this summer so we thought we would share a few pics.

Firstly Castle Hill Car Festival held at Filliegh Estate in Devon.

This turned out to be a very good two day event which showcased a wide array of cars from classics to modern supercars and most things in-between. There was also a hill climb challenge to watch, a trade area and camping on site.

Unfortunately we missed the Saturday because we were already attending this:

But Sunday was pretty good with not even the rain spoiling it.Image

immaculate 240Z- do want

nice to see the familiar face- Boss Motorsport S14A having a chilled Sunday rest

This was the first time an event of this type had been held at the estate, and we hope it goes from strength to strength.

A few weeks later we dropped by Thornfalcon Classics Meet. This event effectively grew from a small group of enthusiasts, to an annual gathering with over 1000 cars meeting in a field located just off the M5 near Taunton.

The event has stayed true to its original relaxed format, with only a guide start and end time people seemed to come and go as they pleased. Best of all there is no entry fee, so naturally we chucked a few quid in the charity tin 🙂

Never get tired of Escorts, the mark one on the left was running a Vauxhall twin cam lump!

shotgun exhaust & custom fit luggage- stay classy 🙂

All in all a great event.

Of course, this is really only just scratching the surface of the quality and the amount of cars we saw at both shows. We also found whilst walking around the owners were very keen to talk about their vehicles which is what it’s all about really…

Another thing that was pretty obvious is that it doesn’t really matter if you drive a rare expensive classic or just a cheap interesting daily driver the rewards are not that far apart as long you enjoy it.

It’s a shame the season is rapidly drawing to a close, roll on 2014.

Mini Meet : GRCSHVC x Different Aspirations

Firstly, apologies for not posting in a while; things happened that, unfortunately, came first.. But we are hoping to make a recovery and post as much as we can!

Last week, we had a little meet up with the guys from Different Aspirations. I’m not great at night time photography so only grabbed a few photos but hope you like them.

We were the first to attend, along with Matt in his Mazda 323 and Henry in his E36 BMW.

For a little meet that we had organised, quite a few people and cars turned up!

From an R32 Skyline to a FC3s RX7 and an E36 BMW to a Porsche 911, it was safe to say that this was a good turn out!

That’s it for now but stay tuned as I will be posting about what our car looks like at the moment.

Our new stickers are now on the online store. We only have a limited stock of each at the moment to see which design gets more interest, and depending on interest; we shall buy more as soon as we can.

We only have two of the design with the clear background and five of the design with the black background. Please let us know which design you prefer and we can tally up the “interest count”.

Smeatharpe DWYB

Last Saturday, 3rd of August, we went up to Smeatharpe for a DWYB event. It, overall, was a good day but the weather couldn’t decide what it was doing and sadly, there was quite a downpour towards the middle of the day.

The day started off as a hot, smokey day.

The Jizzworx 180 looking as great as ever.

Nice low and wide BMW E36.

We had a real thing for this “rat look” S14. Something not seen every day.

As always, everyone loves a dirt drop! Especially as this V8 Altezza showered me in dirt as it passed.

MS Custom Graphics’ very cool, Sileighty.

A BMW E36 on Work Euroline wheels, we’ve never seen this combination before! And on the opposite side of the bonnet…

…An expression everyone feels when the bonnet has to come up!

We all love a good session of tandem drifting!

JDM Garage ER34 sitting very pretty.

We also spotted this fitted MX5 parked and felt the need to grab a quick snap!

And then the rain came but we still managed to get just a few photos.

Lee in the R32 and Ollie in the R33 competing in the ODC section of the day.

The Jizzworx 180 heading for the wall.

This blue R32 Skyline managed to run the wall nicely towards the end of the day!
